SAAFI incorporated into VOASA

Based on recent trends in global Shared Vacation Ownership (SVO) markets, such as Europe and the USA, representatives from all sectors within these key SVO markets such as Fractionals, PRC’s and Timeshare have agreed to work together in order to create unified regulatory bodies across the globe. The USA now has ARDA, (American Resorts Development Association) and more recently Europe has re-branded from OTE to RDO (Resort Developers Organisation).

With this in mind, the SAAFI executive committee met with VOASA (Vacation Ownership Association of South Africa) on 24 February 2009.  The resolution of this meeting was to dissolve SAAFI by incorporation into VOASA, as a result of which, with effect from 01 March 2009 SAAFI have ceased all operations and exposure in the market.

Further to this all 2009 membership payments made to SAAFI will be used as Credit with VOASA and current paid up members will automatically become members of VOASA. 

The SAAFI EXCO formally also elected Henry Greyling and Shelley Mackay-Davidson to represent the fractional sector within VOASA.
