THE SMART WAY TO OWN A YACHT AT A FRACTION OF THE COST

Princess Yachts South Africa, a joint venture between Combined Motor Holdings and David Abromowitz and Associates, took delivery of “Aqua Princess”, a Princess 58 Flybridge Motor Yacht in December 2007. This is the first yacht imported for the company’s fractional ownership programme. The yacht was shipped directly from the UK to Cape Town in time for the December season.

With all ten shares sold in Aqua Princess, a second P58 has now been ordered for delivery in October 2008. “There is already considerable interest in the second yacht, resulting from the positive experiences of the proud owners of Aqua Princess over the festive season”, said Abromowitz.

Hans Kilian, the skipper of Aqua Princess, has many years of experience working on yachts and commercial boats in Cape Town as well as being a past member of the National Sea Rescue Institute. Hans says: “the P58 is the ideal yacht for the company’s fractional ownership programme”.

Combining comfort, superb engineering, state of the art technology and of course safety, the Princess range of motor yachts is in high demand internationally.

The P58 has three double cabins including a full beam state cabin and separate crew accommodation. Princess International in the UK produces over 400 yachts a year, ranging in length from 42 to 95 feet, with a full order book.

Managed by Princess Yachts South Africa, the fractional ownership programme offers the owners the services of a full time skipper, crew and an operations manager, Françoise Huyghé or Pioux as she is known to the owners. Françoise arranges not only your booking and makes sure that the yacht is in excellent condition upon arrival, she also takes care of any catering or extra requirements the owner  might have, thus contributing to a hassle free experience.

The costs of operating the yacht, with the exception of fuel and catering are shared between the owners resulting in great value for money and a completely relaxed experience. They simply have to get on board and leave the rest to the skipper and crew.

Cape Town offers a number of great destinations for the owner to take him and his guests – for example - Hout Bay for lunch, followed by sundowners at Clifton, or destinations slightly further afield such as Langebaan where you can have a dip in the warm waters of the lagoon. You can even take a trip along the coast to Knysna.

All of these combine to provide the owners with the opportunity to explore and enjoy our wonderful coast line. A number of the owners have combined business with pleasure by using the yacht for business meetings; taking full advantage of the air conditioned saloon, fully equipped galley and sophisticated audio visual installation complete with Bose surround sound.

Berthed at the Cape Grace Marina, “Aqua Princess” is one of nine Princess yachts enjoying the security and convenience of the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, which in itself has become a major tourist draw card.
